Data Residency

Movoice does not offer customer-selectable data residency today, and operates no regional clusters. This page previously described an India / United States / European Union / Singapore choice. That option did not exist, and keeping the page up while it did not exist was the mistake.

Where your data actually is

Call recordings, voicemail, encrypted message media and archived transcripts — object storage in the United States.
The primary database — a managed database hosted outside India.
Other processing — spread across our sub-processors in India, the United States, the European Union and Singapore, and China only where the mainland-China voice endpoint is selected for speech synthesis or voice cloning.

The full, current list of sub-processors and the regions they operate in is in the Privacy Policy, section 8. That document is the operative statement; if this page and the Privacy Policy ever disagree, the Privacy Policy is correct.

Cross-border transfers

Where personal data moves across borders we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms, described in section 8 of the Privacy Policy and in the Data Processing Addendum at section 12 of the Terms of Service.

If you need residency

If data residency in a particular country is a requirement for you, talk to us before you buy. We would rather tell you we cannot do it than sell it and fail an audit later.
