Using Twilio for calling
Twilio is the most popular telephony engine for Movoice AI units. It provides robust global connectivity and simple number management.Integration Steps
1. Get Your Credentials
Log in to your Twilio Console. Your Account SID and Auth Token are displayed on the home dashboard.2. Purchase a Number
In Twilio, navigate to Phone Numbers > Manage > Buy a Number.- Important: Ensure the number has Voice capabilities.
- For outbound calls, localized numbers (matching your target audience’s area code) often see higher pick-up rates.
3. Webhook Configuration (For Inbound)
If you want to receive calls on your Twilio number:- Copy the Movoice Inbound Webhook URL from your dashboard.
- In Twilio, go to the settings for your phone number.
- Under Voice & Fax, set A CALL COMES IN to “Webhook” and paste your Movoice URL.
4. Testing Your Setup
Use the Make Call feature in the Movoice dashboard to trigger a test call to your personal phone using your newly connected Twilio number.Troubleshooting
- Permission Denied: Check if your Twilio account is in “Trial” mode. You may need to upgrade to make calls to non-verified numbers.
- Geo-Permissions: Ensure you have enabled the geographic region (e.g., India, UK) you are attempting to call in your Twilio Voice Settings.
