Purchase phone numbers

To communicate with the world, your agent needs a phone number. You can purchase and manage numbers directly through your connected Telephony Providers.

How to Buy a Number (Self-Serve)

1. Identify Your Target Region

Decide if you need a Local, Toll-Free, or Mobile number.
  • Local: Best for building trust in a specific city/region.
  • Toll-Free (e.g., 1-800): Best for national customer support.

2. Purchase via Carrier Dash

  • Twilio: Go to Develop > Phone Numbers > Buy a Number. Look for numbers that specifically support “Voice.”
  • Exotel: Contact Exotel support or use their dashboard to Provision a virtual number.

3. Verification & Regulatory Docs

In many countries (including India, Germany, and Singapore), you may need to provide business documentation (Address proof, ID) before a number can be activated. This is a carrier requirement, not a Movoice AI requirement.

Assigning Numbers to Agents

Once a number is active in your carrier account:
  1. Navigate to the Agent Studio in Movoice.
  2. Open the Call Tab or Inbound Tab.
  3. Select your number from the dropdown list.
  4. Save your changes.
Your agent is now live on that number!
